Motorcycle Accident

The really strange part about this accident is this morning I was letting Ryan know that it was going to be a windy day with micro-bursts. In a way I was hinting it may not be a good idea to take your bike. He said, "I haven't decided yet." Which to me means...I'm taking the bike.

Ryan was driving to work at 8:30am this morning. He was on 5600 West and in the intersection of 5400 South preparing for a left hand turn. He saw this car merge over into the "designated" "right hand turn only" lane going right. So Ryan began to turn left slowly thinking the girl was going to merge into the inside lane and Ryan was going to merge into the outside lane. Then all of a sudden Ryan notices that the girl is no longer turning right and is heading straight for him, and that's when Ryan gets T-boned at 30 MPH. His bike was thrown further into the intersection and he was tossed up onto the hood of the car. Once he was on the hood of the car that's when the girl hit her brakes sending Ryan flying 10 yards off her car. Ryan told me he got up and was limping a bit and everyone came rushing over to him asking him if he was ok. There were people stopping traffic, telling Ryan to sit down, but Ryan was too worried about finding a witness...which he did thank heavens. Turns out the girl was preparing to turn right until her "back-seat-driver" mom told her to go straight. So she made an improper lane change hitting Ryan. So instead of going right she continued going straight. She got a ticket and so did Ryan. We are both dumbfounded that Ryan got a ticket. The police officer said that in Utah you have to yield to people making right hand turns. WHAT?!! Ok, I understand that law if the lane you are driving in is a lane you can go straight through or make a right hand turn, but not a "designated" right hand turn!!! So I think we are going to try to fight it. Ryan was taken away from the scene in a ambulance to Pioneer Valley Hospital.

Another strange thing is...every morning I know Ryan is riding his motorcycle I get to work and I look at the clock between (9:00-9:15 thinking ok, I haven't heard from Ryan so I know he made it safe to his internship out in Saratoga Springs. Well no different today...9:00...few...he's safe. Then 9:18 comes around and my cell phone rings and I see Ryan's face on my screen. I start thinking maybe he forgot something because today was his last day at his internship in Saratoga Springs. Then I thought, oh no, he got into an accident. So I answered and he said hello hunny, and I said hi, what's up. He said I've been in an accident, but I'm ok. The first words that came out of my mouth was...were you on your motorcycle? He replied yes, but I'm ok. He told me what happened and that he was at Pioneer Valley Hospital just 5-10 minutes from my work. I held it together for a moment, but then I started balling because the thing I feared most about Ryan having a motorcycle had come true. Everyone at my work came rushing over gave me tons of support and hugs and said go see your husband. My manager and co-employees are so awesome! I sat down for a couple minutes taking a few deep breaths to calm my self down for the drive over to the hospital. Once at the hospital I walked into the room Ryan was in and saw him sitting in a bed and I walked over to him crying and gave him a big hug. We both began to cry realizing how amazing it was that he was alive and doing ok. I asked him what hurt and he said his left quad, his left ankle was swollen, his right foot had a little bruise from the car hitting him and the road rash on his right arm. That is all! Thank heavens he was wearing his helmet and we still can't figure out how is right leg wasn't crushed between his motorcycle and the car when the car hit him. It truly is a miracle that nothing serious happened to him, and I believe someone was watching out for him. The only reason he got the road rash was from being launched from the car and Ryan usually wears his safety jacket, but it was going to be 98 degrees today and those jackets aren't very breathable.

Right now I have mixed feelings about Ryan getting another motorcycle. I know he wants another one, but I'm a little sick about it. All I know is that I'm happy the love of my life is safe and with me tonight. Right now, that's all that matters to me! :) These pictures are taken minutes after Ryan was released from the hospital. We went over to the junk yard to pick up his motorcycle. Thank heavens for his brother Ron and his girlfriend Emily came to help us get the motorcycle. These pictures don't do justice. You can't really see the detail of the damage on to the motorcycle. I took pictures this evening showing closeups of the damage that I will post. For now it's been a long day and I am tired!

Our 7 Year Anniversary...May 9th!

Wow...Really...7 Years?! I can't believe I've been married to my Best Friend for 7 Years! We have grown so close the past 7 years, and I can only imagine what it will be like when we start having kiddos and what it will be like growing old together. It ONLY gets better every year! I love you so much Ryan. I am grateful to have you as my husband and to laugh, cry, tell secrets to and come to you when I need anything! You are the love of my life and will ALWAYS be the love of my life.

Last year we went to Hawaii, but this year we stayed home and got some much needed relaxation and some work done around the house. Next year we will celebrate with a BANG because Ryan is graduating and will be a Doctor of Pharmacy. Yep, I married a Doctor! LoL

"Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired." - Mark Twain

Thank you for making me feel irresistibly desired! Thanks for being my soul mate, my shoulder to cry on and for being there for me threw thick and thin. I don't know what I would do without you. I am so proud of your accomplishments, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us! Here's to 7 Years My Love! XOXOXO :) Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS, MY FAVORITE!

The Race For The Cure

Last Saturday, May 8th I had the privilege to run in The Race For The Cure. ABC 4 got a team together and I can't tell you how much fun it was. I didn't run the entire thing, and yes, I know it's only a 5k, but I haven't ran or seen the gym in at least 8 months, YIKES! Although, I was able to run half of it and it felt amazing. I am a FAN of The Race For The Cure and I will run every year! It was amazing to see the turn out and all the people supporting those who will someday have breast cancer, have breast cancer or who have passed on due to breast cancer. What an amazing feeling I had just being there and showing support, and getting a nice early morning run in. I think I actually like running!
I also caught up with my my brother Jared and his wife Rachel and her family. They run it every year too because Rachel's mom is a breast cancer survivor. So amazing and inspirational! I look forward to racing next year. Who know, maybe I will be able to run the entire thing next year! :)
Note to self...Jared did the 5k in 21 minutes, I need to come close to that time or beat it next year. Then again, he's ran one marathon, one half marathon and who know how many 5ks. Hmmmm???

Brandon's Graduation

No, this is not Ryan, it's Ryan's twin brother Brandon who just graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Medicine! We are so proud of him!
This summer he will be taking his family to North Carolina for his Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. We are so excited and proud of Brandon and for his family, but we are going to miss them so much!!! Ryan and I might need to start getting frequent flier miles so we can go visit them a lot! It's going to be so hard with out them around. We love you guys so much and we will miss you terribly!

Local Movie Stars!

I love my job because once in a while I get be in some of my clients commercials. For example...about a week ago I got Nichols Photo Lab interested in advertising on TV, but he wanted me to be the photographer in his commercial. Well of course I agreed and was thrilled because I am a photographer and I thought it would be a fun commercial. I knew I wanted to take have a child in the commercial because that is what I specialize in when it comes to photography. I was a little worried about who I would have with me in the commercial considering all my nieces were in school and my nephew was too young. So I brought it up during Sunday dinner and wala...I found my kiddo. My brother-in-law Brandon had Monday off and he could pick up Sydnie, my niece, from school a little earlier to be in the commercial. Sydnie aka "my little bug" would be perfect for the job. I called Sydnie my little bug from the day she was born because she has always been so small and petite from the day she was born. Thanks to Nichols Photo Lab for letting us be the Stars in their commercial. It was a BLAST!!! By the way, go to Nichols Photo Lab for prints, especially if you are going to hang them on the wall. You may pay a little more than Walmart and Costco, but you will see the difference! Plus you can upload you images online and have them the next day! Seriously a photo is art, and people pay a lot of money for art on the wall. Pictures are no different! I will have the commercial on my blog next week when I go back to work! You can also watch for it during Good Things Utah Monday-Friday 10-11 and the 5:00-5:30p news on Channel 4. The commercial runs every other week. So it's will run tomorrow and then be off for a week, then start back again the week after next.

Let's Go Fly A Kite...

A couple weeks ago my Mom, Dad, Ryan and I took advantage of the windy afternoon and flew our stunt kites. It's funny because I was thinking about buying my dad a new stunt kite for Father's Day because that is what we did with our Dad as kids. So I happened to go visit my parent's on a windy day and my Dad says, "Let's go fly kites." Then I asked him about his old kite, and how it wasn't in the best shape. That's when I spilled the beans and told him my Mom, Jared, Ryan and I were going to go in on one for Father's Day. Well to make a long story short, we went and bought him a new one that afternoon. Stunt kites are so much fun! I Ryan and I have two, now three and we love them! If you ever want one go to Cloud 9 down in Draper, the are awesome!
Stunt kites give you an amazing full body workout especially your arms and core. Who knew working out could be so fun! These are some random pictures of our kite flying afternoon. Some of these picture crack me up because at one point we all fell down because of the wind gusts. In one of the pictures my Mom is pointing out the grass stain she got from falling. I love the picture I took of my Dad with the kite hovering over Ryan and my Mom. My Dad was seeing how close he could get to my Mom and Ryan with the kite. It was funny for us, but my Mom and Ryan didn't think it was very funny. They had their faces down to the ground. I LOVE WINDY DAYS!!!

Easter Sunday and some Random Stories!

Ryan and I may not be parents yet, but we love to celebrate the Holidays! So we died some Easter Eggs like we do every year, but this time was different. This time was our first Easter in our new home with our dog Comet. It was a lot of fun, but I can't wait to add to our family and watch our little ones eye's light up about the Easter Bunny and all the other wonderful Holidays! I am so excited for the warm weather! I love Spring! I love watching and listening to the Robins, smelling the flowers and the fresh air. I love the idea of yard work! I know some of you who have been doing yard work for years don't like it, but this is the first time I get to do my own yard work and make the yard look beautiful. I can't wait for Mother's Day Weekend so I can do some planting. Ryan and I have a lot of projects in mind such as...looking for a fencing company to finish the fence work the people we bought the house from did not finish. Then we are going to finish the cement work, and do some curbing. We are getting some great deals from friends, and working for channel 4 is great too because I know a lot of people, and they hook me up! It will be exciting. Ryan will get to help too because he won't have to do hours upon hours of studying, Yay!

Ryan has one more week of school, then he is done and it's off to interning for one year. This time next year, Ryan will be graduating and he will be a Doctor of Pharmacy! I am so excited and proud of my hubby. He is a hard worker and is dedicated, but the past two semesters have been really hard on him. He hit the "I hate school" brick wall. I of course feel helpless and I feel like I have given him the pep talk/speech one hundred times, but all I can do is tell him how proud I am and show my love and support. The light is at the end of the tunnel and it's getting bright and I think Ryan can see it too. I love you honey! I so proud of your hard work!

Another interesting thing...I am on birth control after not being on it for over 4 years, but the doctor and I have a plan. My doctor is the best, literally! He is know nation wide. His name is Dr. Sharp and I would recommend him to any women, but he's not taking anymore patients, sorry. Dr. Sharp is 90% sure I have endometriosis..."Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that behaves like the cells lining the uterus (endometrium) grows in other areas of the body, causing pain, irregular bleeding, and possible infertility." The strange thing about this is ever since I was a little girl I always had a intuition that I would either have a difficult time getting pregnant or not be able to at all, but I have spoken with many women who have felt the same way. Maybe it's a women thing, but I am not worried and I know I will have babies in the near future. I also have always wanted twins! Ryan is an identical twin, and if we have to do artificial insemination or invetro, then I just might get my twins!!! If the natural way or the scientific way doesn't work, then we will adopt. As for now, will begin trying the end of Summer so if I do get prego, Ryan will be completely done with school.

Also, coming up on May 9th Ryan and I will be celebrating our 7 year anniversary! I can not believe we have been married for 7 years! It's amazing to me how much we have grown together, how we know what each other is thinking just by a look or how we finish each others sentence. This year for our anniversary we are going to take it easy and stay home. Past anniversaries we went to California, Moab, Hawaii (twice) so this year we are going to stay home, maybe go camping down south and do some stuff around the house, get a couple message (aaahhhh). Sounds like a plan to me! Then next year we will plan a big trip for our 8 year anniversary and Ryan graduating college.

Wow...I'm not sure how I went from Easter Sunday to Spring, to Ryan finishing up school to infertility to 7 year anniversary, but I did and now it's time for bed. Until next time!
